I thoroughly enjoyed the relaxation exercise. I just want to say ... my hands did feel heavy!!! I was sitting there thinking about sending the blood to them and I started thinking; "wow! they feel really heavy", THEN the facilitator stated that your hands should feel heavy now. I was glad I was already feeling the heaviness, and did not experience it after he suggested it. That part was just wild to me. Having such a strong psysiological reaction with little mental effort was quite an experience!. I'm wondering if everyone had the same reaction?
During and following the exercise, I did feel more relaxed, calm, and peaceful, yet energized and not fatigued. I also enjoyed the facilitators voice, the whole experience made me want more.... I wonder if there is a series of similar exercises with the same facilitator!?
Looking forward to hearing what the exercise was like for the rest of you.

I agree that it was strange that my arms and hands felt heavy when the blood was re-directed. I also noticed that when I tried to re-route the blood back to my stomach area my arms started to feel cool. I really felt energized after the exercise and got a lot of work done in my house, my husband thought I was on caffeine.
ReplyDeleteThis seemed to realy work for both of you for sure. I can't sit still for 5 minutes so this is tough. How can I relax?
ReplyDeleteMeditation is a great experience and can make you feel like a whole new person after you are done. I can see where it would make you want more. I have found some meditation or relaxation experiences that weren’t quite as soothing and it was because of the person talking. They have an interesting job to find the perfect person for relaxation tapes. I wonder how many people they had to interview to get the right tone.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy new experiences with meditation and this one was an enjoyable trip. I think you did a great job describing your experience. I’m looking forward to reading more of your posts.
You really got all the benefits out of that relaxation exercise. I wish I could calm my mind enough to focus on my body instead of what I have to do today. Hopefully I can get the same experience you did with practice.
